Obituary of Joy B. Thompson

Garden City, Kansas   Joy B. Thompson, age 100, died on Monday, January 20, 2020 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on July 3, 1919 in Eldorado, Kansas the daughter of Ellsworth Samuel and Elizabeth Bertha (Meggenberg) Kinney. She was a member of the Baptist faith. On September 18, 1939, she married Harland F. Thompson. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1985. She is survived by: One Son Harland L. Thompson of Wichita, Kansas Two Grandchildren Brad A. (Patti) Thompson of Nixa, Missouri Jody R. (Jeremy Garcia) Thompson of Garden City, Kansas Two Great Grandchildren Jarris Torres of Meridian, Idaho Ryan Knoefel of Garden City, Kansas Two Great Great Grandchildren Jalissa Torres and Jakayla Torres of Meridian, Idaho She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings Mildred (Kinney) Cumming, Lloyd Kinney, Claude Kinney, Paul Kinney, Pauline Kinney, Roy Kinney, Odessa (Kinney) Baxter. Private family services will take place at a later date. Interment will take place at a later date at the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas Price & Sons Funeral Home, 620 N. Main St. Garden City, Kansas 67846 is in charge of the arrangements.
