Geneva Isabell Dierks, age 100, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2011 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Isabell was born July 31, 1911 in Haven, Kansas, the daughter of Edward & Wilda Chapin Mount. She was a 1929 graduate of Haven High School where she was involved in many of the schools activities. Isabel currently had been living in Hot Springs, Arkansas moving from Cedar Falls, Iowa. She had lived in Fredricksburg, Iowa from 1971 through 1976 and in Leoti, Kansas from 1936 through 1971. While in Leoti she was a homemaker as well as secretary at various times for Wichita County Farm Bureau, Wheatland Electric and Kansas- Nebraska Natural Gas Companies. Isabell will be missed by her family and friends who enjoyed her sense of humor, compassion, sweetness and her ability to always make room for one more at her table.
Isabell was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Hot Spring, Arkansas.
On July 15, 1930 she married Otto Dierks in Haven, Kansas. He passed away in 1976.
Isabell's surviving family includes Four children- Darrell Dierks and his wife Pat- Cottonwood, Arizona Dale Dierks and his wife Mary Ann- Lakeland, Florida Donna Krenzel- Leoti, Kansas Dorothy M. Clark- Hot Springs, Arkansas Sister-in-law- Viola Mount- Dallas, Texas Fifteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Her husband, Otto, her brothers, Dallas Mount and his wife Juanita, Walt Mount and his wife Lorene, Cy Mount and sons-in-laws Irvin Krenzel and Paul Clark preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Hot Spring, Arkansas. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to your local food bank, charity or the Wichita County Amusement Association in care of Caruth- Hale Funeral Home in Hot Springs, Arkansas or Price & Son Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas.
