It was my privilege to know Loren and to work with him on several American Baptist boards and committees. His insightful comments and opinions were always right on target. He will be missed.

Everyone knew Loren as a loyal husband, good dad and granddad, faithful to his church and owner/operator of a successful farming business. A select few of us knew him as the man behind the scenes. He was the guy who kept the workout machines up and running at Ladies Fit and Trim, much to his chagrin most days! We couldn't have kept going as many years as we did without him. All of us that are or were a part of Fit and Trim will be forever grateful for the many friendships formed, lifelong friendships, during our workouts.
You are at the Lord's banquet table now, Loren. . .no more worry about too much fat or high cholesterol. Your contributions to Scott community will never be forgotten.

Loren was a wonderful individual to serve with on The Kansas Baptist Convention Foundation, Inc. Board of Trustees. He was a great example of a Christian leader serving God in many capacities. My prayers are with the family at this time of loss.

Mrs. Janzen, I want to extend my love and sympathy in the death of your husband, Loren. I didn't really get to know you when I was in Scott City but Todd Steele felt highly of both of you and wanted you to come to the Sr. dances. I knew you as the other couple who danced to "In the Mood". We had our great years didn't we? Hugs my friend. Dorothy Milburn

Loren was always so warm and friendly to us! When Mother (Kathryn Duff) visited FBC, Loren went out of his way to visit with her, reminding her how they had served on the nursing home board together! His gentleness toward her really touched my heart!
He was such a loving husband! When Sidney played the organ, he watched her with such love and pride on his face. As she returned to the pew to sit with him, he just beamed!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Sidney, as we know you will miss him so much! Loren will be greatly missed by all who knew him!
