I Remember i had a few words with him on march 19 for saint josephs .. it was a tuesday and we went for a rosary that we do every tuesday and there was a few people eating supper for sait josephs feast... he came up to me and asked me about my children if they knew how to pray the rosary .. and share with me that ever since he had done his first communion he would do a rosary everysingle day and how important it was for him to do it .. he also said he was going to be 90 years old and told him we should make a party to celebrate.. God gained a big angel.. he will be missed for sure by many at our church ❤

I only knew Melvin for a couple of years. I always enjoyed our conversations at K of C Assembly meetings. He will always have an impact on my life and was a fine example of how to be a great Knight but an even better person. Rest In Peace my friend.

Melvin will be greatly missed. I am so glad that I was able to see and talk to him a couple of weeks ago at the K of C State Convention in Manhattan. I remember st the convention last year in Overland Park that he was so happy and so proud that Greeley #1901 was the host council. His presence at the conventions will missed by all.

We were neighbors to Mel & Jo Ann for several years. Wonderful family. In later years, after losing my husband, got to visiting more with Mel at the VIP & the hospital. Loved to hear him tell of his military days & talk of his family. He was such a gentleman and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. My deepest condolences to his family.

Mel touched the lives of so many -- whether at his office at Scott Coop, selling Tootsie Rolls for the K of C, or playing bingo at St Joseph Parish Hall. He was truly a gentleman with a giving spirit. We will miss you!

My husband and I met Melvin at a State Knights of Columbus Convention and talked him into signing up for his Kansas Honor Flight. I shared this experience with Melvin and Chris in Nov'15. It was a wonderful trip and we continued to see Melvin at many K of C events in the years that have followed. Melvin also made it to Garden City for the annual KHF chili feed fundraiser. Part of the reason I took such a liking to Melvin was because he reminded me of my dad, a WWII vet and very involved in K of C, who I had lost in 2013. My husband has always appreciated Melvin's guidance and humor throughout K of C events. We will miss him very much and offer our deepest condolences to the family.
Rest in peace dear friend, Rick and Rosemary Corbett, Garden City
