I always enjoyed stopping to visit Donna if she was out on her porch when I walked by. (Steve thinks I took really long walks). What a beautiful lady! 20+ years ago Donna and Thelma Elder rekindled my love of reading. They got me started with their favorite authors and book titles. What a blessing. I will not go in to the Wichita County Library without thinking of Donna. I always look to see if she has read a book and most usually she has! I regret not stopping to visit Donna even when she wasn’t outside. I hope she knows what her friendship meant to me. Rest In Peace (without that darned oxygen) my dear friend.

My Aunt Rose called last night and told me we have lost Donna. So very sorry for your loss, I stayed with my Aunt when I was in Leoti and so enjoyed going over in the evening and sitting on the porch and visiting. Thoughts and prayers for all of you.

I will miss you Aunt Donna. I enjoyed the sisters trips to Kansas to visit you and our reminiscing about when we were kids. You were always a strong and beautiful lady. Give my dad and grandmothers a hug for me. Miss you

Donna, you were my oldest sister and leader for our siblings. You lived in some hard times especially during your early years with limited recourses for the house. You had to support the family with your egg and milk routes in Modoc. Your living with another family to finish school was amazing since you were not very old. When you went to high school, we lived 22 miles away so you again stayed with another family during your school day. You were so thrilled to find Irvin. Your two children were exemplary. Gary and Alan have done well to make us all proud of them. May your spirit of hard work and caring about others continue through your future generations. You will certainly be missed.

Donna will always be “The Doll Maker” to me! I remember visiting her out at the farm, and seeing a room completely full of dolls she had made to sell. They were beautiful, and she even made one for me with curly hair. Our condolences to you at this difficult time. I hope she is dancing a jig in heaven without anymore oxygen tanks.

Aunt Donna and I were in contact on a regular bases - she was always so easy to talk to. We 4 girls still have our Hope Chests she gave us as teenagers and have always treasured them and the knowledge she gave us over the years. She always was such a blessing in our lives - we will truly miss her - she is with Irvin, mom & dad in a better place now. Love her.....
