Obituary of Floyd Duane Horn

GARDEN CITY

 

Floyd Duane Horn, age 93, died on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas.  He was born on May 1, 1925 in Phillips County, Kansas the son of Roy C. and Alpha Webster Horn.  He worked as a district superintendent for Colorado Interstate Natural Gas.

 

He served his country as a Navy gunner mate 3rd class during World War II.

 

Floyd has been a Garden City resident since 1991 having moved from Elkhart, Kansas.  He was a member of the VFW and the First United Methodist Church both of Garden City, Kansas

 

On October 19, 1947 he married Betty Jean Williams in Lakin, Kansas.  She survives.

 

Other Survivors Include:

Two children Gerald (Jerry) D.  and Mia Horn of Garden City, Kansas

Deborah K. and Mickey Horn Cobb of Elkhart, Kansas

Three Grandchildren and Nine Great-Grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Betty Marie Parvin.

 

Memorial services will be held at the Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas,Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 11:00 P.M.  The family has requested casual dress.

 

Cremation has been selected and there will be no visitation.

 

Graveside committal services will be held at the Lakin Cemetery in Lakin, Kansas at 1:30 pm on Thursday.
