My maiden name is Dodge. Dave's mom, Sandy, babysat me back when Dace and I were both pretty little. I think he was my best bud at the time. I don't remember the exact details, but one of my earliest memories is that one day while I was playing outside at his house, he comes out of the house and tells me, come on! For whatever reason we decided to adventure out unsupervised and took off running towards his grandma's house. About that time our little legs made it to his grandma's, his dad Roger came jogging up. That was 30 years ago now but I can still remember that by the look on Roger's face that boy were we in trouble! I'm not writing this to act like he and I were extremely close, because unfortunately I didn't get the experience to keep growing up with him when my mom chose to stop working and stay home and I no longer needed a babysitter. But I wanted to share it because I always look back on that memory fondly. In my mind it's not that time where we got in huge trouble but instead the first time I did anything exciting and worth making a memory over, and it's all thanks to Davey. We didn't know each other as adults, but I can tell by the other consolences that have been left that he continued his life in a way that also impacted others and that he will forever hold a place in many hearts.

Dave and I worked together for a few years at a restaurant in Lawrence. He was always quick with a joke and had an easy smile. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family and all the others who loved him.

Dave, I am truly going to miss your beautiful soul. You sure knew how to light up a room and bring joy to this world. I knew you from my Buffalo Wild Wings days and you made that place a great place to work. Thank you for you kindness and your awesome personality.
Rest easy Dave. You are deeply missed.
