Dan has run the race and kept the faith. He has been faithful in marriage, raised three children to know God and know what God expects from their lives, and walked with Jesus.
Dan is one whom so many have relied upon over the years for health concerns, guidance, servitude, leadership, stability, and friendship. He capably filled those roles in his family, community, and beyond.
One such example is how he served diligently in the local church family in Scott City but also reached out to the Westcliffe, CO brothers and sisters who depend on volunteers for biblical teaching. It is there our paths met again after many years.
We could quickly see how Dan used everything for God’s purposes... his passion to fly took him on monthly mission trips, his love for God’s handiwork both in his home on the Kansas prairies and his Colorado cabin nestled in the Silver Cliffs, and his gift for hospitality as he hosted many fellow Christians also in the line of service or taking a much needed break from ministry.
Dan will be missed in Kansas, Texas, Colorado, Malawi and undoubtedly many other places where he touched lives and made a difference in this world.
Our hearts go out to Ruth, Rochelle, Denise & David, the Steele family, the Scott City church of Christ, the Custer County church of Christ and all those whose lives will never be the same because God made a difference through Dan’s willingness to submit and serve the living God.
