Obituary of Elaine I. Oberlander

Cimarron, Kansas

Elaine I. Oberlander, age 94, passed away at the Shepherds Center in Cimarron, Kansas on Monday, January 8, 2018.  She was born on May 12, 1923 in Redfield, South Dakota the daughter of Willard and Minnie Manson Walsh.

In 1960 she married Art Oberlander in Redfield South Dakota. He passed away in 1999 in Garden City, Kansas. They moved to Garden City, Kansas in 1961 and owned and operated the Century truck stop.

She was member of the Methodist Faith.

Survivors include:

    Three Daughters            Barbara Maris of Wichita, Kansas

                        Susan and Robert Harris of Chickasha, Oklahoma

                        Debbie and Terry Wade of Kendall, Kansas

    Twelve grandchildren, Twenty-one great grandchildren, Six great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; foster father and mother; first husband, Donald Belau; second husband, Art Oberlander; brother, Marvin Walsh; sister, Willma Nowell; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

There will be no calling times.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Shepherds Center in Cimarron, Kansas at 1:00 PM.

Private family interment will take place at a later date.
