Growing up in Missouri,both of my parents,as well as each of my 5 siblings and I had our own custom made Christmas stocking, courtesy of my paternal Grandmother. After moving my young family to Duncan, Oklahoma in the early 1990's, I began inquiring around Duncan Regional Hospital (my place of employment) regarding someone to make stockings for my son and daughter. Charlotte was then working in the Recovery Room and heard my request. She asked what exactly was I looking for, and when I explained that my stocking was knit, she agreed that she might be able to fulfill my request.I brought her my stocking as the example and she took it away to see what she could do. Some time later she came to me with the finished products...knit stockings for my son and daughter, as well as a custom made stocking for my wife! Anyone who knows Charlotte will not be surprised to know that she would accept no payment for her beautiful gift! Approximately 6 years later, my wife and I were blessed with a third child, a second daughter. Some months after her birth there was a knock on our door, and here was Charlotte with a stocking for our new arrival! We think of Charlotte every Christmas as we are reminded of her caring spirit and giving heart!
