Ruby Laughlin-Culbertson, age 89, died Friday, December 19, 2008 at the Homestead Health & Rehabilitation Center in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on May 19, 1919 in Luray, Kansas the daughter of Albert and Ethel Patterson Engling. A resident of Garden City since 1945 moving from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, she was a retired co-owner of Laughlin Electric in Garden City. She was a member of the First Assembly Of God Church of Garden City, Kansas. She also belonged to the Womens Chamber of Commerce, the local China Painters Club, the International Porcelain Art Scoiety and she taught porcelain art for many years. On July 29, 1939 she married Neal Laughlin in Russell, Kansas. He died May 27, 1991 in Garden City, Kansas. Then on July 10, 1993 she married Clifford H, Culbertson in Plymell, Kansas. He died February 13, 2005 in Garden City, Kansas. Survivors Include: Two Daughters, Neola C. Huber of Garden City, Kansas and Connie E. Richmeier of Garden City, Kansas; Two Sisters, Wilma Hodge of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Bonnie Anderson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Five Grandchildren, Six Great-Grandchildren and Three Great-Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands and a brother, Lewis Engling. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, December 22, 2008 at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas with Neil Burum presiding. Friends may call from 10:00am-5:00pm on Sunday and from 10:00am until service time Monday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. Interment will be held in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. The family requests memorials be given to the Ruby Laughlin Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
