Holly, Grant and Blake, Words cannot express how deeply saddened we were to hear of the loss of your dear mother. My husband, Mike, and I grew up with your father through grade school and graduated with him in '70. Greg and I had the same birthday, and I remember bringing cupcakes to school to celebrate them together. We would tease each other through the years, whenever we saw each other, who was really the eldest. When Greg married your mother, he introduced us and we thought - what a beautiful, sweet lady Greg had married. And she was every bit of that and so much more. Loving devoted wife and mother, she loved Greg and her family so much. Linda was a tremendous teacher and friend to those who knew her. She gave so much of herself through the years and she was a true blessing to all. Linda was the epitome of a beautiful Christian woman. We will miss her so much. I hope you will take comfort knowing she is in heaven hugging your dad again. What a day of rejoicing it will be when we are all together again. And you will be with them again! Please accept our most sincerest condolences during this difficult time. Our Love, Mike & Becky Stoppel

"Place me as a seal upon your heart,
As a seal upon your arm.
For love is as strong as death is,
And exclusive devotion is as
Unyielding as the grave.
Its flames (love) are a blazing fire,
The Flame of Jah. (1 John 4:8)
Surging waters cannot extinguish love,
Nor can rivers wash it away."
Song of Solomon 8:6,7

So often I speak of Linda to my family with great respect and love. I hold her up as a Christian example, a mentor, and someone whose example you should consider following if you want to grow in the Lord and do His will. She always demonstrated love for God and others as well as patience, tenderness, humility, kindness. The list goes on. Linda always made people around her feel comfortable and loved. Her presence will be so missed by her family and friends. To be absent from here is to be present with the Lord and when Jesus left the earth He told us He was going to prepare a place that where He was, there we also would be. We know Linda is with the Lord and many others she loved who went before her. May you feel the peace of God that surpasses all understanding.
Sincerely,
Carolyn West

Dear Grant, Holly, Blake an your families,
We are so blessed to have known your Mom. She was a wonderful friend and such a special person. We were thinking about some of the qualities we would use to describe her and the fruits of the Spirit came to mind: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Her life encompassed all of those PLUS she was just a fun person to be with! We will miss her. You are all in our prayers.
Love you all, Susan and Tad

We send our sincere sympathy to all of you. Linda was always a gracious person and had a most beautiful smile! Warren remembers visiting the Ballard home when both Linda & Mark were born. They were neighbors to the Fox family in southern Meade County. The Ballard kids were always pretty quiet on the school bus! Linda was a year younger than I was at Southwestern Heights H.S. One day in Home Ec. Linda gave a demonstration on how to cut up a chicken. My mother had taught me how to do that, but I have always remembered what an excellent demonstration Linda gave that day. It did not surprise me that she became a Home Economics teacher! She was so kind to take Warren's Aunt Audrey McNutt to Plains with her several times when she visited Clarence several years ago. She would deliver Aunt Audrey to Warren's mother's house so they could visit all day, and then pick her up for the drive back to Scott City when she was finished at her dad's. May God's Holy Spirit comfort you and give you peace.

To the family of Linda Helmers, I didn't know her very well. I was Todd Steele's mate for 8 years and Todd would have wanted me to send his love and sympathy to your family. Linda showed us their house when she was preparing to move after the death of her husband. Both gone too SOON. My love and sympathy and RIP Linda. Dorothy Milburn

Linda is one of the finest, strongest women I have had the privilege of knowing. She was so grounded in the Bible, no matter what happened.
May she rest at the feet of God.

So sorry to hear. I remember her well. She taught sewing for others, where I made a goose down coat and a western shirt. I had a few of her cooking classes also where we made jellies and candy. Also was ahead of the Kayettes where we organized and delivered roses to students on valentine's day and several other things. Spent many hours with her in my 3 yrs of high school. Thank you Linda for all you taught me.

Grant, Holly, Blake and families:
I had your mom as a teacher when she was Miss Ballard, and then again after she became Mrs. Helmers. She was a terrific teacher and her classes were some of my favorite. She was a fine person from the inside out and always had time for her students. Years later my daughter had her for a teacher in middle school and she had not changed at all - still a loving and caring teacher and mentor. My heart goes out to all of you, and may the memories you have carry you at this dark and difficult time. Praying that you will feel the love of God as he holds you in his loving arms.
