I've been thinking back over the years I've known Lucas; which has been all of his life. I remember him as a child, adolescent, young man and father. I've thought on his friendship with my son, Luke and my nephew, Sully, and many other friends they had in common. I remember them growing up together in sport and school activities. The common place to run into Lucas was at the ball diamond. And anytime and anywhere I did see him he was always polite with a friendly greeting or conversation. My memories of him are fond. He has many friends, several of my children being among them. He was a friend they could all count on. Lucas lived life with a passion and won't be forgotten. He lives on in another place. As you must be apart from him for a time, may you feel blessed that you can live your life with his daughter, Harper. Words seem of little consolation. I wanted you to know that I am thinking of you as you have to make such a courageous adjustment in your life. May you feel comforted and peace and love.
