We will miss you Dear Friend.
Our condolences go out to Ray’s family and his special friend Darlene Despain, with whom he shared his life for the past 25 years. Ray was immediately accepted and became an extended member of our family from the very beginning. We will mourn his passing, but we will celebrate his life more. Ray was a kind and gentle man that could enjoy the simple things of life. He and Darlene spent much time taking rides, sharing an appetizer, splitting a meal, playing with grand kids, or playing cards. He had a special passion for playing pinochle. Ray, Darlene, Darlene’s mom, and my wife Berta and I spent many, many hours at the card table laughing and having a great time seeing which team could win two out of three hands of pinochle. He found ways to play simple jokes on us that made us all laugh. Ray was always willing to help, whether it was cleaning up after dinner, baking a pie, or researching a problem for someone. He always wanted to help. He was a ray of sunshine for the family. His passing will leave a void in our lives and he will be deeply missed by all of us.
