Your dad was a light and warmth wherever he went … from the first day at Smith through our trips to Tortola and Hawaii, he always brought a sense of quiet dignity and a friendliness that put everyone at ease right away … and even when he was wickedly serving you the Queen of Spades or trumping what you thought was your winning trick in bridge, he did it with a smile and a sense of humor that eased the pain … You all are lucky to have had such a great presence in your lives, and I know I speak for many, many people who also feel so lucky to have had "Mitch" touch their lives … thoughts and prayers and love and hugs go out to you all as you celebrate this wonderful life … xoxo, CD

Dear Donis and family, I had the pleasure of working with Mitch from 1977 until his retirement. He was on the Sunflower board during that time (as well as managing Sunflower's largest member-owner, Wheatland) while I was serving as Sunflower's general counsel. Those were turbulent years with the construction and cost issues of Holcomb 1, but throughout our struggles with unhappy customers, members, regulators and lenders, Mitch lead with a quiet dignity that impacted me for my entire professional life. Unfortunately, because we now live in the KC area and have on-going daily responsibilities, I won't be able to celebrate Mitch's life with you, but know you are in our prayers and Mitch's leadership lives on in many of us to this day.

Donis, I am so sorry for your loss. I am so regretful I was unable to spend much time with you two at Keith's funeral. I would have liked to make it to the funeral but just cant due to work and distance of travel . I really am sorry I will miss the seeing the kids. (Marc, Meredith, Melanie and Marcy.) My thoughts are with all of you. Love you all and I will be there in spirit. Rest in Peace my dear cousin.
