Obituary of Edna M. Uppendahl

Edna M. Uppendahl, age 95, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on October 21, 1919 in Shields, Kansas, the daughter of George H. And Augusta Strickert Uppendahl. A graduate of Scott Community High School, she attended Kansas State University. She worked as a chemist for the Great Lakes Pipeline Company in Kansas City, Missouri for 8 years years. She then moved to San Francisco, California in 1949 and worked for the California Teachers Association. In 1952 she moved back to Scott City, Kansas to farm with her brother George. She was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Scott City, Kansas and was a past Girl Scout Leader. Survivors include her Two Nephews - Kenneth Pohlmann of Miami, Florida and James Pohlmann of Bloomington, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her Parents, One Brother and One Sister. Graveside Services will be held in the Dighton Cemetery in Dighton, Kansas at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015 with the Rev. Warren Prochnow presiding. Memorials amy be given to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church or the Scott County Library % Price & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Dighton Cemetery in Dighton, Kansas. Visitation will 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
