Obituary of Mark Edward Coates

Mark Edward Coates, age 62, died May 1, 2015 at his home in Garden City, Kansas. He was born October 12, 1952 in Garden City, Kansas, the son of Chester Wishon and Betty Faye Hallmark Coates. He was a General Contractor for The House Doctor. Mark served his country in the United States Army before Moving back to Garden City, Kansas. On May 30, 1998 he married Mary Lou Miller in Shallow Water, Kansas. She Survives. Other survivors include: Mother Betty Mast of Scott City, Kansas Two Sons Bryan Coates of Moses Lake, Washington Nathan Burns of Dighton, Kansas Two Daughters Kristi Coates of Moses Lake, Washington Darlicia and Mark Ladner of Scott City, Kansas Two Stepsons Scott Dyer Travis Shearmire Three Brothers Richard Coates of Scott City, Kansas James and Jan Coates of Custer, South Dakota John Kenyon and Shelly Coates of Holcomb, Kansas Three Sisters Robin Crain of Aurora, Colorado Lynette Grissom of Garden City, Kansas Annette Coates of Garden City, Kansas Eight Grandchildren Jonathan Arriola Megan Burns Brittany Burns Nikki Burns Brenton Ladner Jordan Ladner Shawn O’Neil Bella O’Neil He was preceded in death by his fathers, Chet Wishon, Leonard Coates, and Harold Mast. Memorial Services will be held at the Church of The Bretheran in Garden City, Kansas, Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. There will be no calling times. Inurnment will take place at Valley View Cemetery immediately following the memorial service.
