Obituary of C.E. West

C.E. “Jack” West, Jr., age 91, died on Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. He was born on April 22, 1923 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Claget Edward, Sr. and Dorothy Loretta Peppard West. He worked as a Farmer and Rancher and for the Kansas Department of Transportation. He lived in the Healy/Shields area before moving to Scott City, Kansas in 1971. He was a member of the Oddfellows and the V.I.P. Center, and the United Methodist Church. On November 2, 1947 he married Elma Leora Baker in Utica, Kansas. She passed away on July 1, 1993 in Scott City, Kansas. On October 19, 2005 he married Bonnie L. Johnson in Coldwater, Kansas. She Survives. Survivors Include: Two Sons, Tom and Carolyn West of Scott City, Kansas, Richard and Debra West of Scott City, Kansas; Two Stepsons, Mark and Mary Putter of Bulverde, Texas, and Brad and Patty Putter of Marion, Kansas; Two Stepdaughters, Pamela S. and Mike Amen of Bridgeport, Nebraska, and Penny and Chris Bruckner of Coldwater, Kansas. Nine Grandchildren, Seventeen Great-Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Edgar W. West; one sister, Margaret Jean Apple. Funeral Services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Healy, Kansas 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014. with the Reverend Bud Tuxhorn officiating. Memorials in Lieu of Flowers maybe made to the Scott City V.I.P or the United Methodist Church of Healy % of Price & Son Funeral Home inScott City, Kansas Interment will be held in the Healy Cemetery, Healy, Kansas following funeral services.
