Obituary of John Dee Gerstberger

John “Johnny” Dee Gerstberger, age 56, passed away at the Wichita County Health Center in Leoti, Kansas Thursday, October 9,2014. Johnny was born June 1, 1958 in Scott City, Kansas, the son of William and Frances Mautz Gerstberger. He graduated from Wichita County High School. A farmer, rancher, and lifetime resident of Leoti, Kansas. John was a member of the Augustine Township Board, the Wichita County Fair Board, and a Wichita County 4-H Leader. On June 3, 1989 he married Denise Grover in Leoti, Kansas. She survives. He is Survived by; His Wife, Denise Gerstberger of Leoti, Kansas; One Son, Levi Gerstberger of Leoti, Kansas; Four Daughters, Erin and Doug Marshall of Garden City, Kansas; Rebecca and Rylee Ward of Wichita, Kansas; Sophie Gerstberger of Leoti, Kansas; Hope Gerstberger of Leoti, Kansas; Two Grandsons, Brendan Marshall of Garden City, Kansas; Cason Marshall of Garden City, Kansas; One Granddaughter Skylar Ward of Wichita, Kansas; Three Brothers, William “Bill” Gerstberger Jr. of Florissant, Colorado; Dale Gerstberger of Moffat, Colorado; Mark Gerstberger of Ulysses, Kansas; One Sister, Linda Moore of Lakewood, Colorado. His parents preceded him in death. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 13, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas with the Reverand Rick Just officiating. Interment will follow in the Leoti Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Price and Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Leoti EMS or the Wichita County Health Center Nursing Staff in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home, Po Box 161 Leoti, Kansas.
