Obituary of Ruth Anna Friesen

Ruth Anna Friesen, age 96, died Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the Almost Home Hospice House in Great Bend, Kansas. She was born on November 12, 1917 in Buhler, Kansas the daughter of Jacob L. and Maria Neufeld Adrian. A resident of Garden City since 1953, Ruth had been a nurse and a farm wife. On March 21, 1953 she married Ted W. Friesen in Buhler, Kansas. He died May 22, 1999 in Garden City, Kansas. Survivors Include: Five Sons, Wes Friesen of Sparks, Nevada, Gil Friesen of Westminster, Colorado, Roger Friesen of Spirit Lake, Idaho, Monty Friesen of Lucas, Texas and Randy Friesen of Great Bend, Kansas; Two Daughters, Ramona Karber of Enid, Oklahoma and Edna Janzen of Independence, Kansas; One Sister-in-Law, Erma Thiessen of Garden City, Kansas; and Numerous Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at the Garden Valley Church in Garden City, Kansas. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 6-8:00pm on Saturday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the Tabor College Nursing Scholarship Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
