Obituary of Rolland J. Mathias

Garden City, Kansas Rolland J. Mathias, age 85, died Monday, September 29, 2014 at his home in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on December 11, 1928 in Stafford, Kansas, the son of James Henry and Anna Mae Heimiller Mathias. A resident of Garden City since 1980 he had been the owner and operator of Electron Weigh, Inc. On September 10, 1950 he married Darlene Hoover in Garden City, Kansas. She survives. Other Survivors include: One Son, Michael Mathias of Garden City, Kansas; Two Sisters, Nadine Landon of Deerfield, Kansas and Shirley Graves of Staunton, Illinois; Six Grandchildren and Six Great-Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Gary Mathias, two brothers and two sisters. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, October 3, 2014 in the Deerfield Cemetery in Deerfield, Kansas. Memorial services will follow at 2:00pm on Friday, October 3, 2014 @ the Presbyterian Church in Garden City, Kansas. Friends may call from 10:00am:00-8:00pm on Thursday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Presbyterian Church in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
