Galen J. Steffens, age 51, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on August 21, 1962 in Scott City, Kansas, the son of Pete and Vicky Hanzlick Steffens. A lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas, he was a maintenance engineer for Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas. He was a US Air Force Veteran. Galen leaves behind his Fiancé and partner in life, Penny Andrasek. Survivors include his Fiancé - Penny Andrasek of Scott City, Kansas, Two Daughters - Mikala Steffens of Scott City, Kansas, Mallory Steffens of Kansas City, Missouri, Step Son - Scott Bennett of Dodge City, Kansas, Parents - Pete & Vicky Steffens of Scott City, Kansas, One Brother - Phil & Danna Steffens of Scott City, Kansas, Two Sisters - Cindy & Jeff Schmitt of Kansas City, Missouri, Tammy Brand of Carthage, Missouri, Also considered family is Julie Bennett of Minneola, Kansas and James Andrasek of Hutchinson, Kansas, Five Grandchildren and Numerous Nieces & Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Grandparents and One Brother - Charles Steffens. Memorial Services will be held at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014. Memorials In Lieu of Flowers may be given to Park Lane Nursing Home or Scott State Lake % Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City. Inurnment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City.
