I am so sorry to hear the news of the passing of my dear Aunt Matie. My heart is heavy but I know we must take time now to just appreciate the times we shared together for that I am blessed. My memories of my Aunt are filled with laughter and a lot of great home cooked meals. I always appreciated how she stood strong in her beliefs and kept the connections with the family - Coes-Roberts-Warrens-Whites. The annual Christmas cards or the many beautifully written letters were a personal favorite of mine when visiting my Grandma I loved sitting and reading how life was on the farm. She was such a joy. It takes a special person to be a farmer's wife and my Aunt was the best!

Of course, my memories and stories surrond Lou as our bus driver at High Plains School. What a lady to put up with all of us. Makes me smile to remember her smile as we got on and off the bus, always interested in what we were doing, always offering a few words of encouragement, and ALWAYS safe. But we sure knew what we could and couldn't get away with too! Growing up with the Dirks kids, and now cherishing their friendship as adults is a lasting tribute to how Lou raised her children. Thank you for sharing her with all of us. Prayers to you all. Love- Deana

to Darla & Lou's sweet family…..Lou "knew' how LOVED she was….you all never let a moment go by that she did not know that…..I was privileged to witness those actions…..as you know she is so Free Today…enjoying life as she she did in her early years…..she was always such a fun lovin girl. I remember her from those days & i am so happy for her today……but keeping your hurting hearts in my prayers as well. You have been such a wonderful caring family…..God is so Good!
