Elaine and family, The world lost a great man when Ray passed on. I loved him as a teacher, coach and friend. He took us to the 1st state track meet for girls in 1972 and he was so proud that we were there with the boys at last. I have not gone 1 year since that without exchanging holiday wishes with the family and hope to continue that tradition. Anyone that knew Ray will find the world a little less bright with him not in it. I know I will. My condolence to your entire family. Much love, Connie

We will miss Ray from our presence but believe he has his reward. Thoughts of him will remain with us throughout the rest of our lives. He couldn't have been a better neighbor to our son and his family. I know my grandaughter will miss him, especially at her birthday parties where he was always in attendance. His service on this earth is done. He is in a place prepared for him now. We pray his family and friends will feel the comfort and peace that comes from knowing God.

Our earthly world lost a great man who positively impacted so many people with the truth. He told so many of us what we needed to hear, not what we wanted to hear. He made us better athletes, but more importantly better people. We will always be reminded of his legacy: a beautiful caring wife and three successful sons who continue to impact generations. My prayers are with the entire Fox family.

I would have never got where I did in track if it wasn't for your dad! I'm so blessed to have had him as my coach. Not only was he a great coach, tough when he needed to be - a shoulder for me when I need it also. (not to many people new that soft side about him). I will never forget his excitement for me after the first junior olympic championships - one big bear hug from Coach Ray! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Fox family, My late husband Bob worked with Mr. Fox as a referee. Bob loved Ray very much and always had great stories to tell of the days that he, Ray, John Doll and Butch Nally traveled the country on Friday nights. Two great white hats in heaven now.. Please know that I along with my family are thinking of you and praying for peace to comfort you in your time of loss. God bless ..Mary Benton and Family

I had the pleasure of meeting Coach Fox years ago while competing against David and Mark during our jr high and high school days. One year I had the pleasure of running summer track for him along with His two son's, Jeff Tolbert and myself. That was probably one of the best summers I can remember. He not only made a great impression on me he impacted my life in a positive way. Not only did he coach me well, he let me know that I still had lot's of work to do in his I'm gonna tell you like it is kind of way that he is well known for Lol... He will be greatly missed by all of us.I will definitely keep the Fox family in my prayers. Love you guy's.

Coach Fox not only had a hand in raising three very successful sons, he helped many other kids find their way. He had the guts to say the unpopular things that needed to be said. What a great man! My thoughts and prayers are with the Fox Family at this time of great loss.

Mark, Sally and I want to express our deepest sympathy for you and your family on the loss of your father. I enjoyed the opportunity of knowing Coach Fox and meeting and talking sports. He will be remembered as “one of us”--those people who chose a difficult profession and loved the competition and working with young people. Ruth, we know this is a difficult time. You are in our thoughts and prayers. May God bless you and the family. Lynn and Sally Nance
