Norman C. Buehler, age 91, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on April 19, 1916 in Claflin, Kansas, the son of Otto & Kathryn Moos Buehler.
A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1936 he moved from Lyons, Kansas. During Norman's life he served on most of the Church boards, over 20 years on school boards, Rural, Scott Community High School and USD #466 board. He served a term on the ASCS board as well as over 20 years of Township boards. He has been a member of Flying Farmers since 1946 and was a member of the Experimental Aviation Association since 1966. A ham radio operator since 1981 he was also a member of the Sandhill Radio Club, EAA, and the First Baptist Church.
On July 26, 1941 he married Eleanor Wren at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas. She passed away on March 31, 1999 in Scott City, Kansas.
Survivors Include: Two Sons - Richard & Rita Buehler of Scott City, Kansas, Jon & LuAnn Buehler of Scott City, Kansas, Two Daughters Janice & Vernon Storm of Scott City, Kansas, and Lisa Henry of Lawrence, Kansas. Eleven Grandchildren and Fourteen Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, and Two Brothers â Max Buehler & Dennis Buehler.
Funeral Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2008 with the Rev. Kyle Evans presiding.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church, El Quartelejo Museum or the Garden Valley Retirement Village % Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott CIty, Kansas.
Visitation will be at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday.
