Obituary of Earl Giesick

Earl Frederick Giesick, age 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Wichita County Health Center in Leoti, Kansas. Earl was born April 1, 1929 at Leoti, Kansas, the son of Samuel S. & Elizabeth Eva Bohl Giesick. He was a lifetime resident of Leoti and a 1947 graduate of Wichita County High School. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 39 years of service and from the Berning Auction after 25 years of service. Earl was a member of the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas as well as a charter member of the Wichita County Municipal Golf Course serving as it's inaugural President, Earl golfed and did woodworking as long as his health allowed. He also belonged to The National Rifle Assn., National Retired Letter Carriers Assn. and served on the board of directors of the Wichita County Senior Citizens Center. He married F. Lorene Ray on July 10, 1948 at Tribune, Kansas and had just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Earl's surviving family includes- His Wife Lorene Giesick- Leoti, Kansas Two Children and their spouses Jana & Neal Rairden- Richmond, Virginia Tim & Sam Giesick- Holcomb, Kansas Son In Law Chuck Ridder (Karla- Deceased) Marienthal, Kansas Brother- Mel & Rilla Giesick- Denver, Colorado Eight grandchildren- Lexi Gardner, Joshua Ridder, Talia Giesick, Shaina Giesick, Whitney Brown, Sam Rairden, Ashley Nolan and Aubree Budd. Six great grandchildren His parents, a daughter, Karla Kay Ridder, and two brothers, Robert Giesick and Karl Giesick, preceded him in death. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am Friday, August 23, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas with the Reverend Brad Kirk officiating. Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm Thursday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas. Memorials may be given to United Methodist Church Window Fund or Leoti EMT's in care of the funeral home Condolences may be sent to the family through the funeral home website at priceandsons.com
