Obituary of Nicholas Gillen

Nicholas John Gillen, age 94, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2013 at the Wichita County Long Term Care Unit in Leoti, Kansas. He was born on July 26, 1919 in Willowdale, Kansas, the son of Dominic and Minnie Lampe Gillen. A resident of Leoti, Kansas since 1929 moving from Willowdale, Kansas, he was a farmer. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Wichita County Golf Course all of Leoti, Kansas. On October 12, 1944 he married Eva Gene Smith in Marienthal, Kansas. She survives. Survivors include his Wife - Eva Gene Gillen of Leoti, Kansas, Two Sons - Tom & Linda Gillen of Austin, Texas. Jerry & Peggy Gillen of Leoti, Kansas, Four Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents and One Daughter - Sandra Gillen, Six Brothers and Three Sisters. Vigil Service will be held at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Leoti, Kansas at 7:00 p.m Sunday, August 11, 2013. Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Leoti, Kansas at 10:30 a.m Monday, August 12, 2013 with Fr. Ben Martin presiding. Interment will be in the Leoti Cemetery, Leoti, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the St. Anthony's Catholic Church or Wichita County Long Term Care Unit % Price & Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas.
