Obituary of Mary Smith

Mary Jeanette Smith age 89, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Wichita County Health Center in Leoti, Kansas. Jeanette was born June 17, 1923 at Pretty Prairie, Kansas the daughter of Alonzo Edmund & Jeanette Ora Del Miller Lewis. A resident of Leoti, Kansas since 1930, she was a homemaker and retired co-owner of Smith Oil Company. Jeanette was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, a charter member of Wichita County Municipal Golf Course and the VFW Auxiliary all of Leoti, Kansas. She was also an avid bridge player belonging to several bridge clubs.. On January 25, 1946 she married Jesse Victor Smith at Leoti, Kansas. He passed away on February 17, 2009 ay Hays, Kansas. Jeanette's surviving family includes- Two Children Reagan & Rita Smith- Leoti, Kansas Amber & Greg Herrman- Hays, Kansas Four Grandchildren- Rebecca & Josh Austin- Stafford, Kansas Jennifer & Matt Werth- Hays, Kansas Remington & Nicole Smith- Pratt, Kansas Kylee Herrman- Hays, Kansas Two great grandchildren- Bladyn Werth- Hays, Kansas Clint Smith- Pratt, Kansas Her parents, two brothers, Eugene Lewis, Sr. and Neil Lewis and three sisters, Freda Shafer, Rena Woods and Vera Lipus precede her in death. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Leoti, Kansas with the Reverend Paul McNall officiating. Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Washington- Ames House Foundation or the Wichita County Health Center in care of the funeral home Friends may call from noon until 8:00 pm Monday and from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm Tuesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas.
