Obituary of Ed Biernacki

Ed "Whoppie" Biernacki, age 87, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born December 26, 1925 in Garden City, Kansas the son of Francis Joseph & Rosa Wolf Biernacki. A lifetime resident of Garden City, he worked as a mechanic for the Kansas Department of Transportation for 39 years, retiring in 1987. Ed was a WWII U.S. Army veteran a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus, Eagles Lodge, National Guard and AARP. Survivors Include: Two Brothers, John F. Biernacki of Bridgeport, Nebraska and Ivan Biernacki of Pearl River, Louisiana; One Sister, Sister Francis Biernacki of Great Bend, Kansas; Several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by Three Brothers, and Two Sisters. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. There will be no calling times at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to St. Catherine Hospice in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
