To me, Uncle Don was always the quiet, handsome uncle with such a dry sense of humor. We were so lucky to have Don and Rosella come to visit us in Australia and will always remember how much fun we had. I was sorry to hear of Don's passing. He was a great friend to my Dad. Maybe they are sharing fishing stories & having a cup of coffee in heaven together. My heart is so heavy right now with Don's passing. We had so much fun down at Presto's with Don & our gang everyday. It just does not seem the same now without him but we know he is not going through all the problems he was having. We had so much fun with him on Saturday before he left for Denver and the last thing he said to Karen & I was will see you in 4 or 5 days, take care. We will miss him dearly. Mr Hedges was always a well respected gentleman, from him teaching me in Junior High to knowing him into my adulthood. Always enjoyed visiting with him. He will be missed.
We were so fortunate to have Don in our community for so many years! He did put fear in my heart in Junior High when we had to work math problems on the blackboard. Later as an administrator, he was a respected, prudent steward.

I was so sorry to hear about Don. He was my all time favorite principle. He showed me mercy more than once (maybe because our birthdays were so close together). Your family will be in our prayers.

So sorry to hear of Don's passing. He was an excellent 8th grade math teacher and a very thoughtful and provocative Wheatland board member. He was a very special man to me and a good friend. I have missed him this past year following my retirement and our relocation to Manhattan. Thanks for sharing him with us.
