Obituary of Lee Fairchild

Lee Roy Fairchild, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Wichita County Health Center in Leoti, Kansas. Lee was born April 23, 1935 at Zenda, Kansas, the son of Richard Guy & Florence Opal Ridge Fairchild. He was a retired farmer and had been a resident of Leoti since 1942 moving from the Zenda, Kansas area. Following Lee's retirement, he served as a school bus driver for USD 467 in Leoti, Kansas. Lee enjoyed fishing and was an avid hunter. Lee was a member of the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas, and of the Gideons International Society. On June 30, 1957, Lee married Aurella Mae Jones at Salina, Kansas. Lee's surviving family includes- His wife Aurella Fairchild- Leoti, Kansas Two sons- Mark & Deb Fairchild- Leoti, Kansas Terry & Kim Fairchild- Overland Park, Kansas One Daughter- Kathy McGaughey- Garden City, Kansas Four grandchildren Jake Fairchild- Leoti, Kansas Stephanie McGaughey- Garden City, Kansas Hannah Fairchild- Leoti, Kansas Courtney McGaughey- Garden City, Kansas One sister- Lola Giberson- Converse, Texas His parents and three brothers, Dick Fairchild, Max Fairchild and Jack Fairchild precede him in death. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas with the Reverend Mike Howard officiating. Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas. Due to construction at the funeral home, friends may call from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm Friday the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church or Leoti EMT's in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas.
