Obituary of Howard Cheney

Howard Edwin Cheney, age 82, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on August 31, 1930 in Garden City, Kansas, the son of Gilbert Howard and Emma Mildred Dague Cheney. A lifetime resident of Scott County, Kansas, he was a farmer. His memberships include the Fellowship Baptist Church of Garden City, Kansas, and the NRA. Howard was a Sunday School Teacher and was a past member of the Friend School Board. On January 25, 1953 he married Lauretta Simmons in Garden City, Kansas. She survives. Survivors include his Wife - Lauretta Cheney of Scott City, Kansas, Three Sons - Greg & Phyllis Cheney of Topeka, Kansas, Gary & Julia Cheney of Scott City, Kansas, Glen Cheney of Scott City, Kansas, Two Daughters - Judy Thomas of Scott City, Kansas, Karla Sharpe of Scott City, Kansas, 9 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents, and Two Infant Brothers. Graveside Services will be held at the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2012 with the Rev. Don Williams presiding. Memorials may be given to the Scott County EMT's in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. Until 8:00 p.m. Sunday Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
