Obituary of Donna Dirks

Donna D. Dirks, age 78, passed away at the Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kansas on Tuesday, August 14, 2012. She was born on April 19, 1934 in Dighton, Kansas, the daughter of Elmer Everal and Nora Melissa Roberts Speer. She moved to Scott County in 1944 from Dighton, Kansas and worked for Duckwalls in Scott City for 20 Years and then Wheatland Electric for 30 years until her retirement in March of 2004. Her memberships include the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Scott City, Kansas. On April 18, 1954 she married Albert Dirks, Jr. in Scott City, Kansas. He passed away on April 20, 2004 in Scott County, Kansas. Survivors include - One Son - Stanley Dirks of Scott City, Kansas, Three Sisters - Verla Johns of Pueblo, Colorado, Norma Lindenmuth of Plains, Montana, Carolyn Brooks of Pueblo West, Colorado, Three Grandchildren and Six Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, One Brother - Ronnie Speer and One Infant Sister. Funeral Services will be held at the Scott Mennonite Church in Pence, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2012. Interment will be in the Scott Mennonite Church Cemetery in Pence, Kansas. Memorials in Lieu of Flowers may be given to the Scott Mennonite Church in Pence, Kansas % Price & Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
