Obituary of Lawrence Wieser

Lawrence J. Wieser, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Wichita County Health Center in Leoti, Kansas. Lawrence was born March 27, 1920 in Kingman County, Kansas, the son of Peter Charles & Gertrude Osner Wieser. A resident of Leoti, Kansas since 1944, he was a seed dealer, farmer and businessman. Lawrence was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church of Leoti, Kansas, as well as a 4th degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus of Marienthal, Kansas and the Elks Lodge of Garden City, Kansas. On May 14, 1946 he married Margaret Bauck at Marienthal, Kansas. Lawrence's surviving family includes- His Wife- Margaret Wieser- Leoti, Kansas Six children and spouses- Diana & Oran Charlson- Sun City, Arizona Steve & Linda Wieser- Topeka, Kansas Pamela Spinner- Surprise, Arizona Michele & Doug Pellant- Russell, Kansas Judy & Jim Ireland- Leesburg, Virginia Peggy & David Page- Stafford, Virginia Four sisters- Blanche Boose- Wichita, Kansas Alice Clause- Kingman, Kansas Pauline& Joe Clement- Wichita, Kansas Leota Clark- Burton, Michigan Ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren One sister, Coletta Pittman and a son- in -law, Larry Spinner preceded him in death. Vigil services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2012 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Leoti, Kansas Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Leoti, Kansas with Father Benjamin Martin and Father Meinrad Miller officiating. Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas Friends may call from Noon until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Wichita County Health Center, Wichita County Long Term Care Unit or St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
