Garden City, Kansas Marlene Berniece Wilson, age 64, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on July 31, 1947 in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of William Beck and Bernice Hansen Kaldahl. A resident of Garden City since 1976, she was a retired Elementary Teacher and the church secretary for St. James Lutheran Church in Garden City. She was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church of Garden City, Kansas. On June 12, 1976, she married Robert Dean Wilson in McCook, Nebraska. He survives. Other Survivors Include: One Daughter, Dr. Melissa Wilson of San Francisco, California; One Son, Scott Wilson of Seattle, Washington; One Brother, Dr. Wayne & Karole Kaldahl of Lincoln, Nebraska; Mother-In-Law, Mary Helen Wilson of Alva, Oklahoma; One Sister-In-Law, Judy Wilson Kirk of Enid, Oklahoma; Two Nephews, Jeffrey Kaldahl of Chicago, Illinois, and Steven Kaldahl of Papillion, Nebraska; Two Nieces, Jill (Kaldahl) Teachout of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Jill Kirk of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the St. James Lutheran Church in Garden City, Kansas with Pastor Anthony J. Striffler and Rev. Denise Pass presiding. Visiting hours will be from 1:00pm-8:00pm Friday at the St. James Lutheran Church, 1608 Belmont Place, in Garden City, Kansas. Interment will be held in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the church, Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo, or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, all in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
