Obituary of Jennie Lee

Jennie Ellen Lee, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Greeley County Health Center Long Term Care in Tribune, Kansas. Jennie was born July 9, 1914, five miles north of Tribune in rural Greeley County, Kansas, the daughter of Adolphus Eugene & Sadie Frey Carey. Living in Greeley County, Kansas her entire life, she was a homemaker, babysitter and a nurse's aide at Helmwood Care Home in Tribune, Kansas. Jennie loved to read, averaging at least 100 books a year, as well as playing cards, bingo and dominos. Jennie was a founding member (1948) of the Assembly of God Church in Tribune, Kansas. On February 12, 1932 she married Tommy Lee at Syracuse, Kansas. He passed away on October 5, 1960 at Tribune, Kansas. Jennie's surviving family includes- Her children; Frank J. & Karen Lee- Shady Cove, Oregon, Jeanette Taylor-Perkins, Oklahoma; Kenneth A. & Leah Lee- Prospect, Oregon, Daughter in law- Donna Lee- Manhattan, Kansas, Her sisters; Bernice Story- Canon City, Colorado, Sadie Lukenga- Denver, Colorado. Fourteen grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Her parents, husband, sons, Terry Lee and Tom Lee, three brothers and four sisters have preceded her in death. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. ( M.S.T.) Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Assembly of God Church in Tribune, Kansas with the Reverend Michael Underwood officiating. Burial will be in Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Tribune, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Greeley County Museum or Greeley County Health Center in care of the funeral home.
