Paul J. Zollmann, 56, crossed over from his home in Garden City, Kansas on Patriot's Day, Thursday, 9-11-2008, after 5 years of battling multiple cancers. Born October 3, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri, he was the son of Robert C. and Rosemary Witzig Zollmann. He was born again to eternal life April 1977.
Accomplishments included attaining the rank of Star in Boy Scouts of America, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri-St.Louis in 1974, a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from St. Louis University in 1983, and a Masters Degree in Nursing with a specialty in Anesthesia Administration from the University of Texas Health Science Center - San Antonio in 1993. He held professional licensure in six states and finished his career as the Director of Anesthesia at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. In addition, Paul served 20 years and 7 months active duty in the United States Air Force, including tours in both Operation Desert Storm, and Iraqi Freedom, retiring as a Lt. Colonel in 2004. His greatest fulfillment in life was realized as he followed Jesus Christ and served as a leader in marriage ministry, bible studies, and mentoring men spiritually and professionally. He was formerly affiliated with Marriage Ministries International and was currently a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, the Military Officers'Association of America, the Disabled American Veterans and Cornerstone Church of Garden City, Kansas.
On December 30, 1976, he married Susan Basta in Clayton, Missouri. She survives. Other survivors include: Two sons, Michael W. (& Sophie A.) Zollmann of Knoxville, Tennessee and Matthew J. (& Jessica M.) Zollmann of Hampton, Virginia; one daughter, Elaina S. (& Greg T.) Bunch of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his mother, Rosemary J. Zollmann of Fenton, Missouri; three sisters, Karen A. O'Dell of Fenton, Missouri, Kathleen M. Vaughn of Pevely, Missouri, and Christine M. Macon of Webster Groves, Missouri and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.

Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2008 at Price & Sons funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas with Pastor Neil Burum presiding.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Wichita, Kansas with the Pastor Doug Igmire presiding.
Memorials may be given to the Paul Zollmann Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
