Robert Allen Winn, age 70, died Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born December 15, 1935 in St. Francis, Kansas the son of Donald Bruce & Pauline Bryan Winn. A resident of Garden City since 1973 moving from Colby, KS, he was the U.S. Postmaster for the Garden City Post Office, retiring in 1994.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Garden City, Kansas.
Other memberships: Rotary Club, National Association of Postmasters and the National Association of Federal Retired Employees. He formerly was involved with the Western Kansas Swim League and he had been an official for the Missouri Valley Swimming League.
On March 21, 1954, he married Patricia Doreen Thomas @ Raton, New Mexico. She survives.
Other survivors include: 3 Daughters: Coleen Grimes of Olathe, Kansas, Terria Winn (husband, Richard) of Wichita, Kansas and Sheryl Winn Silva (husband, Mark) of Guymon, Oklahoma. Father: Donald Winn of Lakewood, Colorado. Mother: Pauline Radebaugh of Kit Carson, Colorado. Step-Father: Dan Radebaugh of Kit Carson, Colorado. 1 Brother: Jim Winn of Kit Carson, Colorado. Half-brother: Duane Radebaugh of Kit Carson, Colorado. Half-sister: Barbara Patterson of Columbiana, Alabama. Brother & Sister-in-law: Gary & Pam Ulmer of Olathe, Kansas. Brother-in-law: Richard Forbes of Goodland, Kansas. 5 Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by a half-sister, June Radebaugh Daniels, Father & Mother In Law, Van & Evelyn Thomas, and a sister-in-law, Wilda Thomas Forbes.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006 at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City with Rev. Brenda Fluellen presiding.
Inurnment will be held at a later date
There will be no calling times.
Memorials may be given to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
