Obituary of Kathryn Thirakul

Kathryn Kanchana Thirakul, age 63, died Sunday, January 8, 2012 at her home in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on March 10, 1948 in Vientiane, Laos, the daughter of Sing & Khonkham Sananikone. She was a meat processor for Tyson foods and had been a Garden City resident since 1984. She was a member of the Buddhist faith. On January 9, 1971 she married Ron Rattana Thirakul in Vientiane, Laos. He survives. Other Survivors Include: Two Sons, Thivakone V. Thirakul of Liberal, Kansas and Tony Thirakul of Wichita, Kansas; Five Daughters, Kelly (& Mike) Inthavongsa of Winfield, Kansas, Stacey (& S. Johnny) Gamalo of Wichita, Kansas, Melissa V. (& Hector) Nunez of Garden City, Kansas, Katrina V. Thirakul of Hays, Kansas and Elizabeth V. (& Sone Meuangsomphou) Sabandith of Garden City, KS; Son-In-Law, David Durben of Wichita, Kansas; Five Brothers, Amphavanh Sananikone of France, Santhalack Sananikone of Laos, Makhavane Sananikone of Wichita, Kansas, Thiphakone Sananikone of Germany and Washington Sirichantho of Garden City, Kansas; Four Sisters, Chamaly Phaviseth of Wichita, Kansas, Nilaphone Pathammavong of Wichita, Kansas, Saysamone Sananikone of France and Vilaysom Nettrouer of Wichita, Kansas and Twelve Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. Friends may call from 4:00-5:00pm Friday and Saturday @ the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. Interment will take place at a later date. Memorials be given to the Kathryn Thirakul Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
