So sorry for your loss. This was certainly a compounding to the family at this time. If there's any consolation, it is that God has a plan. I'm sorry we are so far apart and probably meet at funerals or weddings. Would love to know more about your family. God bless.

When I was a little girl, Aunt Irmalee and Uncle Selwin would take me to eat at the diner. I loved to go with them to eat because I would get to order salad with Bleu Cheese dressing. My mom wouldn't have eaten that on a bet! I love bleu cheese dressing to this day because of Aunt Irmalee. My condolences to the family for your loss. We're thinking of you.

I remember when Irmalee was about 15 and my age was 7. We were both attending an event at the Scott County Lake.
Irmalee sat down at an upright piano in an administration building and started playing the piano. No musical script was used, and her fingers were all over those 88 keys. I was impressed that someone could play a piano like she could, for I had never heard anyone who could maneuver that well.
The following quote is from The Chariot by Emily Dickinson:
“Because I could not stop for Death,
He kindly stopped for me;
The carriage held but just ourselves
And immortality.”

(Irmalee’s mother and my mother were sisters, and their surname was Council.)

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I have such precious memories of Irmalee. She taught me to play handbells and all through high school I played in her adult bell choir at the church. To this day, the crystal bell that she gave me for a high school graduation present in 1979 has an esteemed place in my china cabinet. I pray God for God's comfort for you as you grieve your Mother's death. I'm sorry I won't be able to travel to Scott City to celebrate her life. Sherry (Schmitt) Timbrook
